Cissy Houston, Mother of the late Singing Megastar, Whitney Houston, has spoken out against Rihanna portraying her daughter in any future film based on the tragic singers life.

Following recent revelations that current chart topper, Rihanna, has shown a keen interest in playing Houston in any upcoming film to be made about her life, it has been reported that one person is certain Rihanna is not the person to take the role on, and that is Whitney’s mother, Cissy. “Over my dead body!” 78-year-old Cissy has said of the idea, according to a National Enquirer source. “Cissy does not think Whitney should be represented by someone like Rihanna,” the source revealed. “Cissy believes Rihanna celebrates everything she hated about Whitney’s life. The drugs, the boozing, the abusive relationship.” Despite Whitney’s highly publicised troubles, it is reported that Cissy wants any future film about her daughter to tell the story of her triumphs as well. “In spite of what anyone thought about Whitney, she sees her as a God-fearing Christian who loved the Lord,” the source said.

On February 11 2012, Whitney Houston was found dead at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, submerged in the bathtub. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported the cause of Houston’s death was drowning and the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use. The news sent shock waves across the world with fans taking to the streets and the Internet, with a very public out pour of sadness, grief and disbelief.

This does not come as much of a surprise, following recent media stories surrounding Rihanna. The star recently told The Press Association she would “love” to play Houston in an upcoming movie, admitting, “That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off.”   Rumours of the film has attracted plenty of attention and interest. Houston, after all, is one of the biggest selling singing sensations we have known and was loved by millions worldwide. Whoever does get picked to play the leading role will have a massive responsibility on their hands. Houston’s life consisted of many up’s and down’s. With massive success in her professional life, accompanied by many low’s in her private one. Such an emotional and turbulent story can only be expressed and fed to the viewer as real, by someone capable of placing themself in Houston’s shoes. Feeling her pain. Understanding her struggles. Being able to portray a real person, and leaving the audience convinced is not something every actress can pull off. It takes a different mind frame and plenty of heart.

Rihanna is yet to respond to these latest reports. We will keep you updated as this story unfolds.

British singer & song writer, Ed Sheeran, hits the big time in Australia, with all tour dates selling out in 24 hours.

Sheeran got his major break in June 2011, with hit single “The A Team“, which debuted at no3 on the UK chart. He followed that on at the 2012 Brit Awards, walking away with Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Solo Male Artist.

This guy is truly one in a million.

Film director and former love of Amy Winehouse, Reg Traviss, has been arrested and questioned in connection with an alleged rape, it has emerged this week.
35-year-old Traviss, was question under police caution, on April 5th. He attended the police station under prior arrangement made by his legal representatives.
Friends have expressed their deep shock over this matter and vow to support Traviss all the way in clearing his name. It comes after a women reported an incident to police earlier this year, in January. A source close to Traviss has told the Daily Mail: “He does know the women who made the report to police and he completely denies the allegations.” Adding: “He will do everything in his power to fight this.”

Traviss had been dating the ‘ Back to Black ‘ singer for two years at the time of her death, back in July 2011. News of her passing hit fans hard, worldwide, and an out pouring of grief and shock soon followed. Traviss accompanied the Winehouse family a short while after that tragic day, to meet with fans and well wishers who had gathered outside Amy’s Camden Square home. It was clearly a hard ask for all involved, and he later spoke to The Sun, saying: “The last three days have been hell. We have suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now. I can’t describe what I am going through and I want to thank, so much, all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.”
He also added: “She has been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising everyday and doing yoga. This terrible thing is like an accident.”

Amy’s father Mitch, addressed the congregation at her funeral, with fond words for Reg, and his relationship with his daughter, saying: “Amy found love with Reg. He helped her with her problems and Amy was looking forward to their future together.” He went on by adding: “She was the happiest she had been in years.”

A spokesman representing the Metropolitan Police, released this statement earlier this week: “A 35-year-old man was arrested by appointment, on April 5th, by officers from the Westminster Sapphire Unit, in relation to an allegation of rape, reported to police on January 18th. He is bailed to return to a central London police station in early July.”

No further details have been released regarding this matter and Traviss is yet to make any comment.

Readers of a leading music magazine have been voting for which star’s they would like to see back from the dead.

2pac shakur Hologram Coachella 2012

The results are in!   The Coachella Festival set many tongues wagging this year, for numerous reasons.  None more so than the appearance of deceased Rap legend Tupac Shakur, who died following a brutal shooting back in 1996. Alongside fellow Rappers Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, they set the crowd on fire with a mind-blowing performance of the late star’s hits “Hail Mary” and “2 Of Amerikaz Most wanted.”   It is the first time anything of its kind has been done, creating a totally original performance, never seen before and specially mastered with the help and input of Dr Dre with Coachella 2012 in mind.   Prior to this, we have seen similar holograms, which were invented using previous archived footage and images to bring back a past version of the artists in question. None more highlighted than that of Elvis Presley.  This latest form is beyond all imagination.  What Coachella witnessed was a first and somewhat magical.

Tupac’s image created entirely from scratch. Recreating him. Bringing him back to life.   This has now sparked a wave of rumours of stars possibly returning from beyond the grave to grace us with their presence once again. These include whispers of Lisa’Left Eye’Lopez joining the surviving members of TLC on a US tour later in 2012. King of pop Michael Jackson to bless us all by returning with his brothers, also sometime this year, for the upcoming tour to celebrate their successful 1984 Victory Tour. None of which have been officially confirmed.   So, after the major hype and brilliant feedback following the Coachella display, music magazine, RollingStone, offered their readers the chance to vote for who they would like to see resurrected and back on stage. The results are in and the top ten desired can now be revealed.

10. The Notorious B.I.G: If Tupac can return as a hologram, why not his rival, the Notorious B.I.G? It would be shocking if Sean Combs hasn’t at least made a few phone calls looking into the logistics of making this happen.

09. Bob Marley: Reggae legend Bob Marley has become one of the most iconic figures in all of popular music, so it makes some sense to extend that image to the realm of holography.

08. Michael Jackson: Michael Jackson’s brothers have made a bit of noise in the wake of the Tupac hologram by suggesting that they would be open to doing a show with a hologram version of their late brother. It’s not hard to imagine an arena of people flipping out over watching even a virtual version of Jackson doing his signature moves.

07. Janis Joplin: If someone were to make a Janis Joplin hologram, they would have to work damn hard at getting it right, since so much of Joplin’s appeal came down to an unpredictable humanity that might not translate well to the world of ones and zeros.

06. Jerry Garcia: The Grateful Dead may have ended with Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995, but the band has stuck around in the form of splinter bands and, more recently, concert films broadcast in movie theatres. It wouldn’t be too surprising if a virtual Jerry popped up one of these days, though the rigid and predictable programming of an effect would go against the loose and groovy ethos of the Dead.

05. Jim Morrison: If Jim Morrison should return as a hologram, it might be cool to make the virtual Doors front man appear as a sort of spectral vision. That just seems much more in line with the style of the band than some bland 3D recreation of the late singer.

04. Freddie Mercury: Freddie Mercury was a larger-than-life figure, so if Queen decides to bring him back as a hologram, they ought to get very literal about that. As in, the faux Freddie should appear to viewers as huge as his astounding voice.

03. John Lennon: John Lennon is another star who would be ill-suited to straight 3D representation – he’s too wild, too human. That said, it would be amazing if he could be represented as a shared psychedelic vision that blinked in and out of reality as a live band performed along with the projections.

02. Kurt Cobain: Part of Kurt Cobain’s legacy is the thing in which his fans will scoff, “Ugh, Kurt would’ve hated that!” at virtually any cheesy thing that’s come out since his suicide in 1994. They’re probably right almost all of the time, the Nirvana front man was said to have hated a LOT of things. It seems pretty safe to say that Kurt Cobain would’ve really, really hated a hologram version of himself “performing” years after his death. Nevertheless, enough of you would like to see it that he ended up at Number Two on this list.

01. Jimi Hendrix: Apparently, guitar god Jimi Hendrix won this poll by a significant margin. It might work really well as a visual, but that hologram would have to be pretty amazing to come close to capturing the effortless soul of the guitarist at his peak, and the sheer sex appeal and beauty of the man in his human form.

What do you think reader’s? Are  there other names you would much prefer to see in this list?  Anyone you are truly shocked to see make the grade?

With this sensational breakthrough in technology, who knows what the future has in store for us. Could this be the way forward in terms of entertainment? Award winning singer Rihanna, has created cause for concern from fans and family following recent photographs released to the media.

Rihanna & Ronald Fenty

Ronald Fenty, father of one of the biggest selling female artist’s of modern times, Rihanna, has spoken out in a recent interview with The Sun newspaper about his concerns for his songstress daughter.  After recent photo’s released on the singer’s Twitter page, and other news outlets showing her smoking what appears to be Marijuana. There are other  snaps of her cutting up a mysterious white powder, causing concern about her bahaviour.    Rihanna sparked controversy at the beginning of 2012 after being photographed in Hawaii smoking a hand rolled cigerette, that some people have suspected is marjuana.   Later on that same day she took to her Twitter, writing:   “Kush rolled, glass fill…I prefer the better things!”   Lyrics she quoted from Rapper Drake‘s hit single “Up All Night.”

The 24-year-old first showed signs that the ‘Good girl has possibly gone Bad’ in October of last year, when she stopped off at Amsterdam’s notorious Bulldog Cafe, one of the first venues in Holland to legally sell Marijuana after it was decriminalised in the 1970s. She was photographed walking out of the cafe with her entourage, wearing sunglasses and a fur hat.   But it is the photo’s taken at the 2012 Coachella festival in California, in which she is sat upon the shoulders of a male security guard appearing to cut up a mysterious white powder.   Ronald Fenty, has told the press that his daughter’s wild behaviour could be a bad road for the young pop star. He went on to talk about Rihanna‘s love for the late Whitney Houston.   Fenty revealed in the interview with The Sun newspaper,   Rihanna was obsessed with Houston as a kid: “She used to love Whitney. Robyn [Rihanna’s birth name] would always sing along toI Will Always Love You.'”   He added, “She admired Whitney because of her range, her voice, her appearance, her personality, everything. She loved Whitney so much she would be honoured to play her in a movie. I think she would accept in a heartbeat.”

Fenty, who battled drug and alcohol addiction himself throughout his daughters younger days also sounded off on Rihanna’s likelihood of following Houston’s downward spiral: “I hope she will be smart enough not to go down that path. I think she is smart enough not to.”   Rihanna is quoted by one UK news paper as saying: “My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song— ’I Will Always Love You.’ All of her music actually was always played in my house.”   When asked about possibly playing Houston in any future movie about the star and her life, she went on to say: “That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off. That’s a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job.”

In response to MTV, who first published the controversial story about her Coachella antics, Rihanna took to Twitter yet again simply saying: “Pathetic C*****.”

Let’s hope this apparent episode in her life is momentary and short-lived. Or could it all be a way of gaining more media attention? Either way, Sataloma News would like to wish Rihanna all the best and express the world is not ready to watch another young talented female fall victim to the strains and pressure money, fame and success can bring. With hit after hit, we look forward to hearing more Music from the chart topper for many years to come.
