Beyonce has spoken publicly about her new baby girl for the first time in an interview for Star Magazine.

The superstar singer talks about her feeling when the tot –Blue Ivy Carter– was born, how her husband Jay-z feels about his new born daughter, and she opens up about the security controversy surrounding their time at the hospital.

she told star magazine  “We are all great, we are just glad to be going home and starting this new  stage of our life. The hospital staff have all been so great, but we  were ready to go home and show our beautiful daughter where she will be  living.”
Beyonce admitted that it was “tight”, but that was for the safety of their daughter – there were many complaints from other parents were alledgedly kept waiting to see  their new born babies, as the security did not permit them to enter parts of the hospital, where their children were.

Beyonce insists that the new addition to her and Jay-z’s family will not be spoilt, with material things. “We are in a situation where we can give our child possessions, but the richest of children have a loving family and a place they can call home, ..”If a child has a loving family who cares for them, nurtures them, loves them and guides them through life, then they have everything they need. Plenty of rich kids are crying out for love, that’s all children really crave.”

It was announced yesterday by the Metropolitan Police, that new measures to improve the effectiveness of stop and search, is being put into place.

a meeting was held yesterday by the (MPA) Metroploitan Police Authorty to discuss the urgent matter of, addressing the failings of the stop and search process, which is resulting in strained relations with local communities.

The Metropolitan Police Website says:

The review, which was approved by Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe this week has led to a series of new objectives. The new approach will see a renewed focus on reducing violence and for the power to be used in a more intelligence-led and targeted way, leading to more arrests and more weapons seized.

A new dedicated, experienced central team will lead a wide range of changes affecting every element of stop and search with the aim of improving policy, practice, and performance across the board.

There will be fewer ‘Section 60’ authorisation, while the intelligence threshold to approve this power will be increased, ensuring there is a stronger case to grant it in the future. There will be more arrests arising from searches, and more weapons sought to help prevent violent crime. Failed searches for drugs will also be cut.

Commander Tony Eastaugh, who will be overseeing the MPS’s refreshed approach said: “Stop and Search is an important policing tactic and a deterrent to crime. We know from public attitude surveys that communities support us when it is used fairly and professionally.

“We accept there are disparities in the use of stop and search. Whilst the causes of these disparities are complex, it is vital that we not only maintain but enhance local accountability to provide greater transparency in relation to our use of stop and search to combat violent crime.

“We have worked hard over the years to establish robust scrutiny processes as transparency is essential to us. The clear message from public satisfaction surveys is that the wider community recognise that stop and search is a vital tool and we know we must retain their backing.

“We will continue to work to increase the involvement of communities and third sector organisations & statutory partners as we move forward with these changes.”

Katy Perry has spoken out on twitter about the gossip revolving around her imminent Divorce from funny man Russel Brand.

It was announced recently that comedian hollywood actor Russell Brand, had filed for divorce from Katy Perry after just 17 months of marriage, and so far neither camps have revealed any more information than that, but now Katy has finally spoken out via her twitter account.

‘I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the  world. You guys have made my heart happy again,’ Katy tweeted – Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog,  magazine, “close sources” or my family.

Katy’s parents are Evangelical preachers, and have told their congregation recently that they still love their daughter although they do not agree with her life choices.

It seems Katy wants to make i clear that she is still the headstrong woman who is responsible for her own actions, and stands by her own life choices, although it does seem from her tweet that she has been feeling very heart-broken since Brand filed for divorce.

children’s communication charity I CAN has warned that communication with our children is suffering due to parents having to work longer hours to make ends meet in the current economic climate.

The recession has almost three-quarters of uk parents to take on extra work to make ends meet, according to a survey carried out by the charity, 55% of those parents questions admitted that they spent less quality time with their children due to work commitments.  Most parents understand the importance of regular quality conversation with their children, bit 19% said they were so too tired after working extra hours to commit to it, and a massive 35% said they just didn’t have time for it.

Kate Freeman, I CAN Communication Advisor, said, “Parents want the best for their children and are well-informed about how important it is to chat with children in order to nurture their communication skills. They’re aware of the key milestones at the different ages and stages of development – but their best efforts are being hampered by the recession’s impact on their working hours”.
“We’re concerned at the knock-on effect on young children who need verbal interaction to build their own speaking and understanding skills, especially in the early years. Without these skills they may start school with a lower level of language than expected at their age. The good news is that making time for chat and rhyme will help get children ‘communication fit’ and ready for school”.

To reassure parents  that there are quick and simple ways to help their child’s communication, I CAN have  put together 10 tips on building talking and singing into a busy day for more information visit
