Today marks the three-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s untimely death on 25th June 2009.

Michael Jackson,  made contributions to music and dance, that is still to this day unmatched by anybody. referred to as the King of Pop, or by his initials MJ, Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records.   Jackson’s talent and constant headline hitting life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades.

Michael Jackson’s  life was not without controversy, with the most remembered headline hitting moments, of child abuse allegations, to which Jackson was never convicted of and was even acquitted in a much publicised and televised court case, that lasted five months, back in 2005.  Jackson was famed for his ever-changing facial features, that were thought to be the result of many cosmetic surgery procedures, although always denied my Michael himself. But it is the music and the dancing that the entertainment legend will always be remembered for above all else in his life.  The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1964, and he began his solo career in 1971 .  Jackson’s 1982 album Thriller is the best-selling album of all time,  His other records, including his 1979 album,  Off the Wall,  Bad, which was released in 1987, and his latter albums , Dangerous and HIStory which were released between 1991 and 1995, also ranked among the world’s best-selling, not only is  Jackson is one of the very few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, he was also inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame as the first and  only dancer from the world of pop and rock ‘n’ roll.   Micheal’s achievements, surpass that of any other, within the entertainment industry, with multiple Guinness World Records, 13 Grammy Awards, as well as, of course, the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.  26 American Music Awards, which is a record in its self, as the most won but any single artist ever, including the  Artist of the Century and  Artist of the ’80s awards.

MJ, who was 50 years old when he died, after overdosing on a drug called anesthesia propofol  is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest-earning deceased artist,  He also holds the record for the longest span of US top 40 singles.

Micheal’s Children have been paying respect to their father today with his only daughter Paris Jackson, tweeting

“RIP Michael Jackson..Dad you will forever be in my heart,” she wrote. “I love you.”

Paris was just 11 when Jackson died. Michael Jackson has three children,  Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, commonly known as Prince, who was born on February 13, 1997, his sister Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson was born a year later on April 3, 1998, and in 2002 his third and last child Prince Michael Jackson II, who is nicknamed “Blanket” was born. Michael’s first two children ar as a result of his marriage to long-term friend, and dermatology nurse

Michael Jackson & Deborah Rowe

Deborah Jeanne Rowe, The couple married in 1996 in Australia, but later divorced after both children were born, with Jackson gaining full custody of both of their children.

The identity of Blankets mother is still unknown, but Jackson did reveal that the child was the result of artificial insemination from a surrogate mother and himself.

Michael Jackson had finished another gruelling day of rehearsals, for his up and coming and FINAL arena show, consisting of fifty dates, at the London O2 arena, The ‘THIS IS IT’ show was never to be seen by the public.  Michael Jackson’s name will, it seems forever live on, and be known by generations to come, only because of the pure genius of his music, and groundbreaking dance abilities, his absolute flawless showmanship whilst he was on the stage, and of course his essentricity, that gripped the world to his every move of his life. He brought us the moonwalk, the instantly recognisable red and black leather jackets, the superspeed spin, and the glittery glove,

 R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON.

Robin Gibb  has died, aged just 62.  Bee Gee’s singer and songwriter, finally lost his battle with colorectal cancer, after contracting pneumonia, and slipping into a coma.

R.I.P. Robin Gibb

Earlier this year it was announced that Robin Gibb was in remission from cancer, but Gibb’s publicist announced shortly after, that he had been hospitalised for intestinal surgery and was recovering,  so was forced to cancel further scheduled appearances and performances.

On 14 April, it was tragically reported that Gibb was “fighting for his life” after contracting pneumonia and was in a coma in a Chelsea hospital.  Gibb’s two oldest children, his wife Dwina Gibb,  his brother Barry Gibb and his mother were at his bedside. On 20 April, it was reported that Gibb was out of his coma and was making remarkable progress, according to his family.  On 22 April, however, it was reported that he had advanced colorectal cancer.

the Gibb family have been no stranger to health problems in recent years, In August 2010, while performing in Belgium, Gibb began to feel abdominal pains. , he was rushed to a hospital in Oxford, England where he  underwent emergency surgery for a blocked intestine, the same condition that killed his twin brother, Maurice.  Gibb recovered and returned to perform concerts in New Zealand and Australia.  Gibb continued to make television appearances and other events following his surgery, but in April 2011 he was forced by health problems to cancel his tour of Brazil.  More performance were canceled as the year grew to and end, and his few public appearances, started to show a frailer, weaker looking Robin Gibb.

In  November, it was revealed that Gibb had been battling liver cancer, that had spread from his colon.  In an interview published in The Mail on Sunday on 22 January 2012, Gibb spoke for the first time of the cancer.

“For more than 18 months, I had lived with an inflammation of the colon; then I was diagnosed with colon cancer, which spread to the liver. I have undergone chemotherapy, however, and the results — to quote my doctor — have been ‘spectacular’. It’s taken a toll, naturally, but the strange thing is that I’ve never felt seriously ill. I’ve mostly felt great. There have been many false claims around, which I’d like to dispel. I am not and have never been ‘at death’s door’. Nor do I have a team of alternative doctors working on my health. That’s not true, although I’m not averse to healthy remedies for any illness. I feel they can go together with conventional medicine. I do eat health foods and drink herbal teas made for me by Dwina, my wife and RJ’s mother. Other than that, I am under the care of Dr. Peter Harper at The London Clinic”.

Robin Gibb  died in London yesterday,20 May 2012.   Gibb’s death left his brother Barry as the only surviving original member of the Bee Gee’s.

Fruit and vegatable detox, wash away that Easter chocolate feast.

In the modern world, many of us we live hectic lives, many of us are  eating on the go, fitting our busy lives around a busy work schedule, especially working mums who have even less time than  most of us. Not to mention all the chocolate many of us have consumed over the Easter weekend.

It’s fair to say that if your life is that busy, you are probably not always eating the right foods, it is highly likely that you are eating high sugar foods to keep those energy levels up, quick to eat foods, and probably a takeaway or two, and as much as these foods keep you going during in the day, those sugars can wear off quite suddenly leaving you feeling down and exhausted.  Eating on the go can make you bloated and  cause indigestion and stomach cramps. Now I understand it isn’t always possible to completely change your eating habits overnight, but here I’ve discovered the most amazing way to repair your body in a short-lived 1 to 3 day detox, and there’s none of those fancy and expensive supplements, it is purely a fruit and vegetable detox and it really does work,.  Doing  it for just one day,  will make a difference, and you will feel the benefits. eating just fruit, and vegetables and water for 24 hours, will help clean out all of the toxins from inside your body , right down to your skin, leaving it looking fresher, feeling cleaner, and eyes looking brighter. if you have time over a weekend to manage keeping to your detox for a couple of days the benefits are enormous.

DO NOT USE THIS DETOX FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS IN A ROW!!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

This is why this is a Detox and not a Diet.

freshly made fruit juices, using a juicer of just a low-priced hand blender, ta amazing, and the vitamin and mineral goodness you get from eating fresh carrots, pease, broccoli runner beans and celery type foods, are just amazing.ste amazing, and  . Fresh fruit juices naturally eliminate of toxins as well as supply vitamins, minerals and nutrients to strengthen your health.

The major benefits of a fruit and vegetable detox

• Increased energy

• Increased metabolic rate

• Reduced cellulite and bloating

  • Pregnant or nursing women or children shouldn’t try a juice fast.
  • People with diabetes, low blood sugar, eating disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, , epilepsy, or other chronic conditions shouldn’t try a juice Detox before consulting with your doctor first.
  • A juice fast typically lasts for one to three days.

1990’s Brit Pop Superband PULP played their first full live show of 2012 at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night (March 31).

As part of the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs, throughout 2012. The show opened with a number of questions being projected onto a large screen above the stage. The final one asked the crowd ‘Do You Remember The First Time?’ before Pulp appeared on stage to kick off with the 1994 hit.   The set spanned Pulp’s vast career, including the inclusion of ‘My Lighthouse’ during the encore.

Lead singer and writer of most of the Pulp cataloague of tracks, Jarvis Cocker spoke about how the song, , featured his sister Saskia and her school friend Jill Talbot on backing vocals. The pair joined Jarvis and co  onstage to contribute once again, nearly 30 years later, at which point the crowd went insane with cheering.

“Dunno what you’re clapping for…” quipped Javis, “…nobody bought it.”

Jarvis admitted  the fact the band hadn’t played live in six months, aside from performing two songs at the NME Awards in February, when they also picked up this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music award. The show was a massive hit and the overexcited croed sung along to every track they played. It was definately a night for remiscing, and celebrating pure music Talent, that we must never forget.

Kwoklyn Wan talks about the Martial Arts Show Live, Working with his little brother Gok, and his new Movie Role.

Kwoklyn Wan
Kwoklyn Wan, is one of the biggest names in the UK Martial arts scene today, as founder and original host of the very first Martial Arts Festival, and co developer of the biggest Martial Arts Expo in Europe-Martial Arts Show Live -he definitely knows his way  around a dojo.  Wan’s impressive martial arts credentials, and business ventures alongside his business partner Paul Clifton, has definitely kept the hard-working 38-year-old father of two, busy,  he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.   February this year we saw Kwoklyn Wan on our tv screens along side his ‘Fashion Fix’ younger brother Gok Wan, using  his experience as a bullied child into helping UK teenagers with their confidence issues, in Gok’s Teens on C4 . And now the most exciting news for Wan this year so far, that he has been cast in a british movie alongside some big names, which we couldn’t wait to find out about.
Hi Kwoklyn,
Well where do we start, you seem to have so many strings to your belt, lets start with the Martial arts,
What was your original vision and purpose of the Martial arts festival uk?
In 2008 we attended Leicester’s Riverside Festival, the sun was shining, and everyone was having a great time. I then bumped into some good friends of mine who were performing their Capoeira (Brazilian Martial Arts) as part of the featured entertainment. Everyone loved the movements, the music and the overall feel good feeling of a group of martial artists training and playing together in the glorious sun. From that point on I couldn’t get the idea out of my head about creating a similar event that’s main focus was the diverse world of martial arts but also catered for the non martial artist, and MAF-UK was born. We hunted out suitable locations and finally decided that Parklands in Oadby was the perfect location. It had a huge hall just in case the weather wasn’t that great and loads of outdoor space. We set the date for April 2009 and created the UK’s largest martial arts festival to date.
Did the Festival exceed your expectations?
Yes it did! We expected around 2,000 visitors as we had marketed the event everywhere. We didn’t quite expect the 10,000 that finally turned up and had a fantastic time.
Will there be a next one?
We have full intentions of re-launching MAF-UK but we have all been kept very busy with its sister show (The Martial Arts Show Live) which was created in 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham. TMAS Live is now in its 3rd year and has become the largest martial arts expo/show in europe. This May will see our biggest show yet incorporating 3 Huge Halls at the NEC on 12th & 13th May with a new addition being launched The MMA Show Live in one of the Halls. We have pretty much every single huge name you can think of from UFC fighters to screen action hero’s.
Your Martial arts company Urban Martial Arts, where can we find you?
Urban Martial Arts is located in Leicester city centre but we do have several franchise schools dotted around (Anstey, Aylestone, Wolverhampton, Welwyn and London) please log onto URBAN MARTIAL ARTS WEBSITE for full details.
Are there any plans to expand and open some new dojo’s?
We are in the process of restructuring the way Urban Martial Art schools are run but this is still A Plan in Action. We do have our eye on several new locations across the UK.
Where does your passion for Martial arts come from?
I guess it’s the crazy Kung Fu films my dad used to let us watch when we were growing up and the now, cult classic tv programs. I remember as a very young child playing “Monkey Magic” with my brother using a painted broom stick as my staff/pole.
You have a working partnership with Paul Clifton, and together you launched the Martial Arts show, tell us a bit about it?
Paul and I had our first meeting after my first event MAF-UK and hit it off pretty much straight away. It was decided then that we should launch a new show at the NEC as the midlands was lacking a first-rate martial arts event based in middle england. Paul being in the publishing industry for years would be the official media partner and I would concentrate on the logistical side of running the show.
How proud of that, are you?
We are both very proud that in less than two years we took a product that did not exist and turned it into the largest most talked about event in the martial arts calendar.
Are there any new Wan/Clifton projects in the pipeline?
We have literally loads of new up and coming projects ranging from Apps, to Film Production and TV. It’s all very exciting though at the same time all very tiring. All I can say is “Watch this Space”
How was it working with your brother on Gok’s Teens “The Naked Truth”? tackling teenage confidence issues ?
I loved every minute of it, Gok and I are very, very similar (being only 1 year apart in age), we have the same sense of humour, and our values and attitudes are almost identical, so, it was very easy working with him on camera. We were both bullied at school for being Fat & Chinese, so it was very easy for us to really understand the pressure and negative comments that these kid’s were being exposed too. It felt great when off camera the kid’s came up too us and said that we really had made a big difference to their life’s. I know that we shall continue to keep helping other children for the rest of our lives’.
You definitely seemed to put your heart into it, teaching the youngsters to love themselves again, did the teens, teach you anything ?
I guess the teen’s taught me that with the right kind of help and support we really can make a difference. These kid’s want to listen, they want to learn and they do want to be children and not have a care in the world. Gok is a great ambassador for this and I will support him all the way.
It seems that you are part of a very hard-working family, where did you and your siblings get this work ethic from ?
As we grew up, it was very evident that Mum and Dad worked their socks off to give us every thing we ever wanted. It was never thrown back in our face that they worked 7 days a week, nor was it a chore to them, “it was life” and that was that. So hard work is a mind-set, it’s only hard work if you make a fuss about it.
Soar Magazine was quoted saying you could be Leicester’s most successful brothers since David and Richard Attenborough, we think they might be right, what do you think ?
What a huge accolade! Gok and I have been very fortunate that we have both found jobs that we thoroughly love. Success is measured by three simple but very important factors. FREEDOM, RESPECT and PEACE. Once you have truly worked out what they mean you will have success.
Now, we spotted that you tweeted recently that you have been cast in a movie, how exciting!! what can you tell us about it ?
Yes I can. Bredrin filmworks are currently working on a new film called “The Law of One” it is a mixed martial arts film and has some big names attached (Top Secret). The Director was watching Gok’s Teens and spotted me, a larger than life character and liked what he saw. He contacted me and I sat a very short screen cast audition and was offered the part.
Who is directing the movie ?
The Director is Winston George Ellis who personally has appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp, and Batman Begins.
Who else is going to be in the movie?
My Character plays alongside Andy Beckwith (Film: Snatch) and the lead is Top Secret at the moment but they are HUGE!
When do you start filming?
We start filming in September at Wimbledon Studios London for 6 weeks.
You are another example of amazing success coming from hard work, and doing something you love, what advice would you give our young readers, who have a passion but just do not know how to get started ?
It’s not as hard as you think to get started, you just need to have the confidence to believe in the product you are creating and understand that sometimes if not all the time you will be required to work 7 days a week and for 16/18 hours a day. You will only get out what you put in and remember FREEDOM, RESPECT and PEACE.
Thanks for talking to us Kwoklyn, it’s been a pleasure.

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has hit the headlines again, this time it’s the speculation that the 25-year-old has had some drastic cosmetic procedures on her face, leaving her barely recognisable.

Lohan, 25, stepped out in New York City with what looked like  plumped-up cheeks and  lips. cosmetic surgeons have said that if it is a cosmetic procedure,is likely to be as a result of having facial fillers. This is not the first speculation of Lindsay undergoing cosmetic procedures, in the past we have seen her breast size increased dramatically, with people assuming she had undergone an augmentation, and in recent years her lips have been looking a little fuller, suggesting that she may have had fillers before.

The change in Lohan’s face has caused a media storm, and it was reported that, because of the transformation Lindsay actually look older than her 25 years, paparazzi had mistaken 67-year-old  80’s pop icon Debbie Harry for Lindsay whilst they were staying in the same hotel.

Lohan has not commented on her new appearance, so we can only speculate as to what has caused it, but there is no mistaking that there is a change. Lindsay stepped out earlier today, and was sporting a new red-head look, going back to her original almost natural hair colour, after being blonde in the recent past.
