BLACK SABBATH HAVE ANNOUNCED THERE WILL BE A NEW ALBUM AND 2012 TOUR.
Using the original 4 man line up including super star Ozzy Osbourne, the band have come together to make their first new album in 33 years, followed by a Tour in 2012.
The announcement was made on Friday, singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bass player Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward told a news conference at legendary Sunset Strip club Whisky a Go Go they would perform at the Download Festival in June 2012, and then embark on a world tour.
“It’s now or never, we are getting on great” Iommi told reporters.
“It’s just time,” Osbourne added, noting that the four had tried in the past to work together again. “This time, for some magical reason, we have written about seven or eight songs.”
Ozzy’s daughter, Kelly Osbourne took to Twitter to announce the news to her followers, Which led to #blacksabbath trending worldwide on the social network. The band is also using the internet as a tool for the first time, having launched their first official website www.blacksabbath.com . They will soon be joining other music stars on Twitter and Facebook.
Black Sabbath was inducted to the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide.
