Traviss accompanied the Winehouse family a short while after that tragic day, to meet with fans and well wishers who had gathered outside Amy’s Camden Square home. It was clearly a hard ask for all involved, and he later spoke to The Sun, saying: “The last three days have been hell. We have suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now. I can’t describe what I am going through and I want to thank, so much, all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.”
He also added: “She has been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising everyday and doing yoga. This terrible thing is like an accident.”
Amy’s father Mitch, addressed the congregation at her funeral, with fond words for Reg, and his relationship with his daughter, saying: “Amy found love with Reg. He helped her with her problems and Amy was looking forward to their future together.” He went on by adding: “She was the happiest she had been in years.”
A spokesman representing the Metropolitan Police, released this statement earlier this week: “A 35-year-old man was arrested by appointment, on April 5th, by officers from the Westminster Sapphire Unit, in relation to an allegation of rape, reported to police on January 18th. He is bailed to return to a central London police station in early July.”
