Introducing A New Fresh Innovative Music Group from the UK

**De’Vide**

De’ Vide consists of two musicians, Lexi Lex & Barny Holmes.  Lex DJs and MCs around the UK and Europe, and has just finished a summer tour on the Zante club scene. He has written and performed his own hip-hop and R&B music for many years as a solo artist.  Barny is studying fine art at University in Norwich,  has been in various bands and projects and is currently in a number of bands with genres ranging from, Funk & Acoustic to Heavy Rock.  The two met in 2010, and after hearing each others talent,  they decided to fuse their individual sounds into one unique style, a fusion of Hip-Hop-Indie-Soul.

From then De’ Vide was born.

I would describe their sound as a ‘crisp fusion of Hip-hop, R&B, Indie and Soul with an acoustic Funk edge .

Their live show is one to see, Barney’s guitar talent and vocals are outstanding, and the crowd pleasing talents, and clever lyrics of Lexi Lex are second to none.

De’Vide have gained an amazing amount of support in quite a short time, and are already doing things big.

In February 2011 they came an amazing second place in the Choice FM competition to support Ne-yo & Trey songz at the o2 arena. with only a tiny percentage of votes behind the winner.  In October 2011 they were interviewed and featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra, their track “To & Fro” was selected as the Homegrown Download of the week and placed on the 1Xtra Itunes podcast

Right now  they’re working on an EP with music producer Jammy, whose work is fast attracting the attention of big artists and labels from all over the globe.

 FRANKIE IS OUT

The news is out that Frankie Cocozza has been booted off X Factor, for breaking a ‘Golden Rule’

All of the contestants are given strict rules to adhere to whilst they are still in the competition, and singing live on the Saturday night shows. It is not exactly clear what rule has been broken, but we do know that he is still being investigated by Ofcom for his foul language, before the 9 o’clock watershed, live on ITV. and has been reprimanded for his constant partying. it is reported that after his shock survival on Saturday nights show, he went with friends to the off licence, after drinking heavily he I said to have gone to a private party, and stayed out all night.

This type of heavy partying has never been accepted by the X Factor bosses, and i’am sure it never will be. Cocozza is said to be devastated to lose his place in the competition, where he was in the running for a £1million pound recording  contract and album deal.

Remembering Joe Frazier

January 1944 to October 2011

Joe Frazier has some pretty impressive statistics under his belt when it comes to boxing, he won 32 of his 37 fights, 27 of those by KO, but who was Joe Frazier?

Born  on January 12th 1944 in south Carolina  to parents Rubin and Dolly Frazier, one of 13 children, and when his younger brother David died from diphtheria as an infant he became the youngest. Joe Frazier was very close with his father and never far from his side as a child. Joe wasn’t too much into boxing too early on, but when his uncle made a comment that he was stocky and was going be the next Joe Louis, a former heavyweight champion, it stuck in his mind, and Joe began boxing properly after seeing some fights on the TV, the Frazier s were the first in their area to get a TV set. Frazier and his father used a home made punch bag on his fathers 10 acre hog farm, where an accident involving one his fathers pigs, left his arm crooked, and therefore permanently in position to deliver that Famous Left Hook!  at aged 15 Joe got a job as a Coca Cola delivery man and saved money for a bus ticket, he left his home of Beaufort and went to New York, but couldn’t find any steady work so instead went to Philadelphia, where he worked hard to gain a good reputation as one of the best amateur boxers in the US. Whilst earning his money working at a slaughterhouse. His training paid off, Earning himself a place in the US Olympic team, and going on to bring home a Gold medal in 1964 from the Tokyo Olympics.

the following year Frazier turned professional and won his first 19 fights and then beat buster Mathis in 1967 to gain the new York Athletics commission world heavyweight crown, Then in 1970 Frazier defeated Jimmy Ellis who had won the world boxing association elimination tournament to unify the division. He was then crowned UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.

During this time Muhammed Ali had been stripped of his boxing licence for refusing to fight in the Vietnam war, Ali returned to the ring the same year Frazier won his biggest title and in 1971 the two men met in the ring for what was billed as ‘The Fight Of the Century’. Both men were reportedly paid a whopping $2.5m for the fight, a never seen before amount of money for boxers. Frazier’s Left hook Dropped Ali, a rival he hated at the time on the way to winning a points decision after 15 gruelling rounds at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Frazier lost his title and his unbeaten record to George Foreman 22 months later, in Kingston Jamaica. he went on to fight Ali twice more after Ali took the title from George Foreman, but the fights were pale imitations of the original although the last fight went 14 rounds before Joe’s corner stopped the fight. By that time Frazier who fought most of his career with limited sight in his left eye, was almost blind. Joe Frazier hung up his gloves in 1981 after being beaten again by George foreman.

Joe married his wife Florence in 1963, but Divorced in 1985. they had 4 daughters and a son together, Frazier also had another daughter and 5 sons with other women, bringing the total to 11.

R.I.P Joe Frazier

Legendary boxer Joe Frazier aka Smokin’ Jo, has died of Liver cancer aged 67. Frazier, had only been Diagnosed several weeks ago, and sadly lost his brief battle with the disease.

Joe Frazier will always to be remembered, for being the first man to beat Muhammed Ali in the boxing ring back in 1971. Although he lost the next two fights with Ali. He held the world heavyweight world title between 1970 and 1973.

other Boxers have been paying tribute

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, have been getting down and dirty outside the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, in Hollywood.Immortalising their hand and foot prints, in a ceremony to cement their place in movie history.

Hundreds of fans turned up, and the screaming and cheering was what we all have all come to expect from an appearance of the trio.

All three actors seemed in awe of the whole situation, and all said it was an Honour, to be given the opportunity to do this. Pattinson said “this is incredibly scary, this is such an incredible honour. How young we are ? It’s kind of ridiculous and amazing at the same time” Lautner described the moment saying “There are a few moments that mean so much, it’s really even hard to explain. Stewart simply said “This is insane that I’m doing this”.

The stars parents were among the crowds, and couldn’t have looked any prouder. It’s an amazing thing that these guys have done, the Twilight series has been among the most successful film franchises of all time.

Lindsay Lohan was released from a Los Angeles County jail earlier this morning after serving just 4.5 hours of her 30 sentence, for once again violating her probation.

The actress, and Tabloid favourite was booked into the Century Regional Detention Facility at 8.50 the Sunday evening, and was walking free and back in her Venice home by  before 2am. It is understood the very early release was down to Los Angeles’ serious overcrowding problem within their jails.  This isn’t the first time Lohan has been given a jail term, in fact, she has been given 5 separate jail sentences since 2007, one of which she only served 84 minutes.
